A little curiosity about the place we call home.
We've always believed there's more to a home than what goes inside it.
At Escapology Home, we spend much of our time thinking about furniture, interiors and the small details that make a house feel like somewhere you truly belong. But there's a bigger picture that interests us, too.
The neighbourhoods we choose. The streets we grow attached to. The places that shape our everyday lives.
And, of course, what our homes are actually worth.
That's what led us to create The Plymouth Home Report.
Now, you might reasonably wonder why a furniture and interiors business is publishing a report on house prices.
It's a fair question.
We aren't estate agents. We don't sell houses. But we are in the business of home, and we think that gives us a good reason to be curious about the places people choose to live.
So we decided to put that curiosity to work.
Using actual property sales recorded by HM Land Registry, we've created a free, interactive report that explores Plymouth's housing market, postcode by postcode.
Not asking prices. Not estate agents' estimates. Actual recorded sales.
You can explore how prices compare across different parts of Plymouth, see where homes are changing hands and discover how the local market has evolved.
We'll update the report every month as new sales data becomes available, building a picture of the changing property market over time.
It's not designed to predict what your home might be worth tomorrow. Nor is it intended to tell you where you should live.
It's simply about making useful local information easier to find, understand and explore.
Plymouth is a fascinating place. Its neighbourhoods have their own character, their own history and, as the figures reveal, some rather different property markets.
We thought it would be interesting to bring those differences to life.
We hope you find it useful. Perhaps even a little surprising.
And if it starts a few conversations about Plymouth and the places we call home, then all the better.
Break free from mundane,
